Important Security Advisory: Let’s Encrypt to Revoke Millions of TLS Certs due to CAA Bug

Dear Customer,

According to a report, Let’s Encrypt, that provides free and open TLS certificates will revoke 3 million certificates because of a severe vulnerability found in them.

This move could mean that the websites of the companies that rely on these certificates to protect sensitive data flow could be identified as insecure, or rendered unavailable.

The flaw, Certificate Authority Authorization (CAA) bug could allow unauthenticated remote attackers to take control of a TLS certificate on a website, get access to the web traffic and gather critical data.

The certificates were revoked on March 4 itself. Hence, our ZNet Technical Team strongly recommends that you switch over from Free TLS certificates to more advanced SSL certificates. Go through the resource link shared below to know more about the SSL certificates.

We at ZNetLive, always encourage our customers to pursue the best practices of security to keep their data protected against vulnerabilities.
